The stories Behind the Pirates

As a reader of fiction, I love creating these characters in my mind as I read about them. When the author gives me just enough detail for me to fill in the blanks, and I can make my own connection with them, I am engaged so much more that if the author gave me complete head-to-toe descriptions.

As a writer, it was so very important to me to be able to distinctly visualize each of the main characters who took up the majority of the story, as I wanted to imbue them not with my voice, but each to have a voice of their own. Being able to use current technology to describe what I saw in my mind, and have it generate these images was amazing… it gave me a visual reference to use when I wanted to get into that character’s headspace.

This may not be who you picture them to be as you read Neckbeard The Awesome Pirate… and that’s perfectly okay!! The power of imagination compels us to live these worlds as we see fit!
